Dear Graduate:
The Wood County Democratic Party is pleased to offer you the opportunity to submit an application for
a scholarship in the amount of $500.00 to be applied to your first year college expenses.  If you are
selected, this money will be placed in escrow at your designated college, university, or vocational–trade
school.
Although you will receive this application from a school official, it is your total responsibility to properly
complete and submit the documentation by the designated deadline of March 31th, 2026.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. The applicant must be a graduating senior planning to enroll in a Texas College/University or
Vocational–Trade program
2. The recipient is required to carry a minimum of 12 semester hours (Full–Time)
3. The Scholarship must be utilized within 12 months of high school graduation
4. The award will be sent to the college/university/vocational–trade school of your choice and must be
applied toward tuition, fees and /or books.

Check–list:
Attach Essay: (may be typed or hand written)
In 300 to 500 words, write an essay describing why you are interested in the program you have chosen
and what inspired your decision.

Letters of Recommendations: Attach 2 letters of recommendation (Faculty, administration, employers,
clergy or friends)
Attach: Official high school transcript and a copy of your college transcript if applicable
Attach: Acceptance letter from the college/university or vocational–trade school
Mail: to Wood County Democratic Party P.O. Box 1455 Quitman, TX 75783 or return to your high school
counselor.
